Recent rainstorms have made the bottom half of the trail muddy and slippery. Waterproof hiking boots, traction devices, and poles are highly essential.

Another winter storm is on its way: expect more rain on the bottom part of the trail, and heavy, wet snow closer to the top.

Always check the WSDOT camera on the day of your reservation for current conditions. (Set the camera to Camera Direction: Eastbound US 2 at MP 61.9: Old Faithful Avalanche Zone)
